November 16, 2006

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"The deadline for sending your demos to Tony for consideration for the 'Unsigned Band' competition on his 'Black Sunday' radio show for Planet Rock has now passed. Thanks to the many hundreds of you that took the time to send in your CD, every single one of them has been listened to. The final selected band will be played this coming Sunday (19th November) and will compete alongside the bands that have been played so far in the series. The eleven bands that have been shortlisted to date by Tony are NERVE ENGINE, LEGION, MANDRAKE, WHEN GRAVITY FAILS, 4FT PIMP, ICHABOD CRANE, KYSHERA, HEKZ, TENTH PLANET, TEQUILA ROCKIN' BIRD and HURRICANE STATE. The winners of the competition will be announced during the final show of the current series on Sunday 26th November 2006. Tony has recently added an Iommi Model Epiphone SG to the prize, which also includes Iommi model stage equipment from Laney, and an image pack from Grass Roots."

"Black Sunday" airs Sunday nights on Planet Rock. The two-hour show is repeated every Monday night between 6 and 8:00 p.m. U.K. time. You can e-mail your requests to Tony at [email protected].

"Black Sunday" can be heard online worldwide at www.planetrock.com. U.K. listeners can also tune in via DAB Digital Radio and via Sky Channel 861, NTL channel 680 or Telewest Channel 924.
